I <br />,Ie <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />! <br />i <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />! <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />The Ramsey Public Works Committee conducted a regular meeting on March 16, 1999, at 15153 <br />Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Chairperson Gerald Zimmerman <br />Committee Member Natalie Haas Steffen <br /> <br />Members Absent: <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />Director of Public Works Dean Kapler <br />City Engineer Steve Jankowski <br /> <br />Chairperson Zimmerman caIled the regular Public Works Committee meeting to order at 5:05 <br />p.m. .- <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />There was none. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve agenda with cases rearranged. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: <br /> <br />Receive Anoka County Highway Department 1999 Construction/Utility <br />Conference <br /> <br />This information was noted. <br /> <br />Case #2: Review 1999 Street Maintenance Program Issues <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski explained that at the March 9, 1999 public heating for Improvement <br />Project//99-03 (Crack Fill and Sealcoat Rivenwick), there was a request that this project be <br />postponed for one year to allow for the development of the remaining vacant 10ts, avoiding <br />heavy tracks marring the appearance of the newly sealcoated road surface. Mr. Jankowski <br />agreed that construction vehicles will do that, however, he noted that delaying the project will <br />have the negative impact of interrupting the program. Rescheduling a project requires more <br />administrative effort and causes available funds for needed maintenance to go unspent for a <br />minimum 12~month period of time. Mr. Jankowski suggested that future maintenance programs <br />would be best initiated in early November with an informational meeting to identify concerns <br />and allow time for adjustments. <br /> <br />Public Works Committee/March 16, 1999 <br /> Page 1 of 6 <br /> <br /> <br />
