Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Case #5: Site Selection/Opinion of Fire Station #2 <br /> <br />Community Development Assistant Walther reported that the Cit~ contacted Planning <br />Consultant Hoisington Koegler Group, Inc. to review the proposed and available sites for <br />locating a second fire station. He presented the criteria used for site selection, which <br />consisted of 11 parcels. <br /> <br />Discussion ensued relating to the owners of the parcels and which would be the better <br />sites. <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that the Council should have some time to digest this <br />information, however, it would be helpful if Council would authorize the designing of the <br />station to begin. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Hendriksen to <br />authorize the design of the second fire station to begin and that the site selection be <br />brought back to the next Council agenda. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, <br />Hendriksen, Anderson and Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec recessed the regular Council meeting at 8:37 p.m. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec reconvened the regular Council meeting at 8:44 p.m. <br /> <br />Case#6: Authorize Contract for Professional Services for Section 28 <br /> Development <br /> <br />City Engineer Jankowski explained that on February 23, 1999, the City Council <br />authorized requesting proposals for planning and engineering services to prepare a plan <br />for the development of Section 28. Staff solicited proposals from 11 firms and received <br />proposals from four of them. Two consultants were invited to interview and staff is <br />recommending the firm of SRF Consulting Group, Inc., as they have a good deal of <br />strength in the transportation element. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Anderson to <br />authorize entering into a contract with SRF Consulting Group, Inc., to prepare a <br />development plan for Section 28 for a not-to-exceed amount of $10,000. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
