Introduction

The Waltek Corporation is currently undergoing an expansion of their existing facility, which
wilt necessitate the extension of municipal sanitary sewer and watermain. At the present time,
sanitary sewer is available on the west side of C.R. #57 a distance of 1,150 feet south of the
Waltek project. Water service is available from an existing 12-inch watermain located a distance
of 1,300 feet south of the Waltek project. Should the watermain be extended to the Waltek
project, it would be highly desirable to extend the main an additional 1,000 feet northward to
Sunwood Drive, thereby completing a 12-inch trunk main loop. This will provide enhanced fire
flows and system reliability to the Sunfish Lake businesses by furnishing them with back-up
water supply. The purpose of this study is to determine the feasibility and associated costs for
this project and propose a method of financing such.

Description of Improvements

The improvements would consist of extending the existing sanitary sewer, .which is located on
the west side of C.R. #57 at the intersection with 142nd Lane, northward a distance of 1,150 feet
to the westward extension of 144th Avenue. The sanitary sewer will be extended westward a
distance of 206 feet within the right-of-way obtained from Waltek for the future westward
extension of 144th Avenue. Watermain would be extended along the west fight-of-way of C.R.
#57 from its present terminus point located 800 feet north of C.R. #116 to the westward
extension of Sunwood Drive a distance of 2,300 feet. The watermain will be placed in a casing
jacked across C.R. #56 connecting to the existing 12-inch main located on the southeast coruer
of that intersection. All work will be performed within the county highway fight-of-way,
however, temporary easements may be required to facilitate construction. Traffic control will
need to be placed along C.R. #57 during construction, and turf restoration will be required as a
part of the project. Six-inch services for water service and six-inch sanitary sewer lateral shall be
stubbed for each of the existing properties serviced by the utility extension.

Estimated Project Costs

Appendix A contains a detail of the construction costs, which are estimated to be $111,680. In
addition to construction costs, project overhead of 30% is estimated and detailed below:

Engineering 10%
Staking and Inspection 7%
Fiscal and Legal 3%
Administration 5%
Contingencies 5%

There are no anticipated right-of-way costs for the project. Therefore, the total project cost is
anticipated to be $145,184.
