The 1994 revision was not adopted by the
state making the 1991 revision the most current revision. The City of Ramsey is also
operating under the 1991 revision.

In the spring of 1999 the State of Minnesota's Fire Marshal Tom Brace formally adopted
the 1997 revision of the UFC.

Council Recommendation:

Staff is recommending that Council adopt the 1997 Uniform Fire Code as our cities fire
code standard. With a fire code inspection program to begin shortly, our city should adopt
the most recent revision. When the next revision to the UFC is adopted by the States Fire
Marshal, staff will again recommend adopting the most current revision.

Council Action:

Motion to accept/reject that the 1997 Uniform Fire Code be adopted as the cities fire code
standard.

Reviewed By:

City Administrator
Fire Chief

CC: 7/13/99
