The new garage doors are wider and
include automatic openers. We also removed an interior loading dock and changed the
location of a service door. All of these improvements have increased the utilization of
the building.

The City of Ramsey's Capital Improvement Program includes a project to improve the
metal building at the Public Works Facility. This project is to be funded over the next
three years, with $17,000 being allocated for 1999

For 1999, we propose improvements in the following areas:
Replace the remaining two overhead garage doors with wider doors and electric
openers
Install electrical outlets throughout the building
Install overhead lighting in the remaining portion of the building
Replace existing fuel tank and pump (this tank is used for off-road machinery only)
Pour concrete aprons for the two remaining doors

We have solicited and received bids from' the following companies:

Contpany Job Bid Cost
Industrial Door Garage Door Replacement $5,717.00
Company
City Wide Garage Door $5,701.00
Garage Door Replacement
Automated Garage Door Replacement $6,927.00
Garage Door
Sterling Electric Electrical Work $7,723.00
Arnie Bilhnark Electrical Work $9,350.00
Electric ·
Westside Fuel Tank Replacement $3,617.00
Equipment
Deterntan Fuel Tank Replacement $2,540.00
Brownie Inc.

Fhe bids highlighted in the table are from the contractors that staff is recommending for
the project.
