GENERAL HOUSING GOALS <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey supports the following general housing goals: <br /> <br /> Having a balanced housing supply, with housing available for people at ail income levels. <br />· The accommodation of ail racial and ethnic groups in the purchase, sale, rental, and location <br /> of housing in the city. <br />· A variety of housing types for people in all stages of the life-cycle. <br />· A community of well-maintained housing and neighborhoods that includes both ownership <br /> and rental housing. <br />· Housing development that respects the natural environment of the city while striving to meet <br /> the need for a variety of housing types and costs. <br />· The availability of a full range of services and facilities for its residents and the improvement <br /> of access to and linkage between housing and employment. <br />· Adding to and preserving the affordable housing in the city. <br /> <br />The City of Ramsey will make its best effort, given market conditions and resource availability <br />to maintain a city-housing index within the ranges for affordability, life-cycle, and density. The <br />city will strive to meet the following housing goals: <br /> <br />at least 70 percent of ownership and 35 percent of the rental housing as affordable. <br />at least I 0 percent of the housing as units other than single-family detached within the urban <br />service area. <br />an owner/renter housing mix of 90 percent owner occupied and 10 percent occupied by <br />renters within the urban service area. <br />have single-family detached houses with a density of two units per acre and multi-family <br />housing with an average density of at least eight units per acre, applicable to MUSA <br />development.
