AUTHORIZATION TO ENGAGE CONSULTING SERVICES FOR LOCAL
INFORMATION SERVICES SUPORT
By: James E. Norman, City Administrator

Background:

The City Council has been made aware of the need for local information services support in the
past. The City Administrator prepared a case for the September 28, 1999 Council meeting,
recommending InfoTech of Arden Hills to perform the consulting services for local information
services support. The City Council tabled the action and directed Councilmember Hendriksen to
be involved in the process. A second vendor that would provide the same services submitted a
proposal for consideration and staff, along with Councilmember Hendriksen~now recommends
the City contract with NetMark, Inc. of Brooklyn Park to provide the consulting services for
local information services support.

Recommendation:

Staff has discussed the local information technology needs for the City of Ramsey with
NetMark, Inc. and has developed a proposed contractual agreement (attached to case). The City
would be billed on an hourly basis at a rate of $75.00 per hour and can be terminated after a
thirty-day notification.

Council Action:

Motion to authorize the City Administrator to enter into an agreement with NetMark, Inc. of
Brooklyn to provide local information services support for the City of Ramsey at $75.00 per
hour. ~

Reviewed by:
City Administrator
Finance Officer
Councilmember Hendriksen

CC: 10/12/99
Attachment
