PC CASE #: & RECEIVE HIRING RECOMMENDATION FOR PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKER POSITION By: Joyce Pruitt Hottinger, Administrative Services Manager Background: The Public Works Director, Public Works Supervisor, Park/Utilities Supervisor and the Administrative Services Manager conducted interviews with five candidates on Monday, September 27, 1999. Three candidates scored highly during the interview, and the interview panel conducted a second interview on October 6, 1999 to gather additional information to choose a finalist. Based on consensus of the interview panel, Staff recommends Mark Giese as the finalist candidate for the Public Work Maintenance Worker vacancy, contingent upon successful completion of background investigations of driving record and criminal history, reference checks and a physical examination. The Public Works Maintenance Worker's annual salary would be the starting step of the position in the City's 1999 compensation plan, $24,071.00, or $11.57/hour. As with other maintenance worker appointments, the new hire will work in both the streets and parks/utilities divisions as needed.
