PC CASE #: & <br /> <br />RECEIVE HIRING RECOMMENDATION FOR PUBLIC WORKS <br />MAINTENANCE WORKER POSITION <br /> By: Joyce Pruitt Hottinger, Administrative Services Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Public Works Director, Public Works Supervisor, Park/Utilities Supervisor and the <br />Administrative Services Manager conducted interviews with five candidates on Monday, <br />September 27, 1999. Three candidates scored highly during the interview, and the interview <br />panel conducted a second interview on October 6, 1999 to gather additional information to <br />choose a finalist. <br /> <br />Based on consensus of the interview panel, Staff recommends Mark Giese as the finalist <br />candidate for the Public Work Maintenance Worker vacancy, contingent upon successful <br />completion of background investigations of driving record and criminal history, reference checks <br />and a physical examination. The Public Works Maintenance Worker's annual salary would be <br />the starting step of the position in the City's 1999 compensation plan, $24,071.00, or <br />$11.57/hour. As with other maintenance worker appointments, the new hire will work in both <br />the streets and parks/utilities divisions as needed. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that City Council authorize Staff to offer a conditional hire to Mark Giese <br />as the Public Works Maintenance Worker, contingent upon successful completion of background <br />investigations of driving record and criminal history, reference checks, and a physical <br />examination, at an annual salary of $24,071. ~ <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />Motion to authorize Staff to offer a conditional hire to Mark Giese as the Public Works <br />Maintenance Worker, contingent upon successful completion of background investigations of <br />driving record and criminal history, reference checks, and a physical examination, at an annual <br />salary of $24,071. <br /> <br />Reviewed By: <br />Public Works Director <br /> <br />Copies also distributed to: <br /> <br />Attachments: <br /> None <br /> <br />PC 10/12/99 <br /> <br /> <br />
