RAMSEY POLICE DEPARTMENT <br />MONTHLY REPORT <br /> OCTOBER 1999 <br /> <br />DEPARTMENT HIGHLIGHTS <br /> <br />The department responded to 701 Initial Compliant Reports compared to in 801 September of 1998. <br /> <br />Crime Watch Meetings: <br /> <br /> 10/3 5400 block of 155~ Lane <br /> 10/28 5800 block of 147* Lane <br /> <br />10 people attended <br />11 people attended <br /> <br />PUBLIC SAFETY AIDE UNIT ACTIVITY <br /> <br />The Ramsey Police Department Public Safety Aide Unit consists of 11 members from the community. Our Unit's <br />Vision is to create a secure, aware and involved community by uniting law enforcement and residents. Our mission <br />is to provide a variety of support services to the community and the police department in a non-sworn capacity. The <br />unit is divided into (2) divisions, the uniformed Public Safety Aides (Police Reserves) and the newly formed <br />Community Outreach Team. '~ <br /> <br />In October 1999, a total of 208.5 hours were donated by Public Safety Aides members in the following areas: <br /> <br />MEETINGS / TRAINING: <br /> <br />Total Time Commitment: 41.5 <br /> <br />Explanation: <br />There were (2) regular PSA meetings this month, which covered instruction and hands-on training on vehicle <br />impound searches and park patrol stops/contacts. <br /> <br />There was also a special field training officer meeting where we covered our policy and procedure FTO manual. <br /> <br />GENERAL DUTY: <br /> <br />Total Time Commitment: 48.5 hours <br /> <br />Explanation: <br /> <br />(4) PSA's completed 48.5 hours of general squad patrol duty. Conducted extra patrols, assisted officers w/(6) calls <br />and handled (3) non-priority incidents. <br /> <br />SPECIAL EVENTS / DUTIES: <br /> <br />Total Time Commitment: 58 <br /> <br />Explanation: <br /> <br />(2) members assisted PSA Laurie Swadner in updating our business keyholder list by going door to door- was great <br />public relations detail - well received by business owners. Updating continues... <br /> <br />PSA Tim Burns represented Ramsey, driving the Youth First Float in Anoka's Halloween parade. <br /> <br /> <br />
