Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #99-12-xxx RESOLUTION RECEIVING IMPROVEMENT PROJECT SEWER AND WATERMAIN) BIDS AND #99-63 (SUNFISH AWARDING CONTRACT FOR LAKE BOULEVARD SANITARY WHEREAS, on November 9, 1999, the Ramsey City Council authorized Improvement Project #99-63; as a non-assessment project; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the Sunfish Lake Boulevard sanitary sewer and watennain, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on December 3, 1999; and WHEREAS, the following quotes were received: Bidder W.B. Miller Dave Perkins Contracting Inc. Burschville Construction Brown & Cris, Inc. Northdale Construction Richard Knutson, Inc. S.R. Weidema, Inc. Amount ofBid $141,553.50 $155,925.00 $160,375.00 $164,660.00 $169,296.64 $188,730.65 $219,405.50 Engineer's Estimate $144,330.00 AND WHEREAS, it appears that W.B. Miller, Inc. is the lowest responsible bidder, approximately two percent below the Engineer's estimate; and WHEREAS, W.B. Miller is a local contractor who has satisfactorily completed projects in the City of Ramsey. NOW TIIEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: l) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with W.B. Miller, Inc. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the Sunfish Lake Bott levard sanitary sewer and watermain extension in the amount of $141,553.50. 2) That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to all bidders the deposits made with their bids, excerpt that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
