Norman, City Administrator

Background:

Staff discussed the concept of a rail industrial park during the EDA meeting of April 13, 1999.
As a continuation of this project, the consultant group of Richardson, Richter & Associates, Inc.
(RRA) was contacted to discuss the possibility of providing staff assistance to perform a
feasibility study of the redevelopment for the Maken property site. A proposal was prepared by
Kathy Dody of RRA, which describes services provided for the feasibility study (proposal
attached). Phase I o£the project would include estimating site preparation costs by performing a
preliminary assessment of environmental contamination, to determine and prepare cost estimates
for clean up of the site, analyze financial impact of the project by determining land value, tax
revenue consequences and other financial impacts associated with the redevelopment of the land.
Cost for the study is estimated to range between $15,000 to $25,000.

Discussion Item:

Staffwill discuss the proposal for the feasibility study of the Maken property with the EDA.

EDA Action:

Based on discussion.

Reviewed by:

City Administrator
Community Development Director
Community Development Assistant
Economic Development Consultant

EDA:05/11/99
