EDA # <br /> <br />REDEVELOPMENT STUDY AND TASK FORCE FORMATION <br /> By: Cindy Sherman, Community Development Director <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On May 11, 1999 the City Council hired Hoisington Koegler Group, Inc. to complete a <br />redevelopment study for underutilized industrial parcels in the City. An outline of the proposal <br />and strategy is attached for your review. The phase one of the study has been completed by the <br />Planning Commission. Now we are moving into phase two of the study, which is the formation <br />of a task force to facilitate community involvement in the process. <br /> <br />Phase one of the study included establishing goals for the study and an analysis of several sites <br />with one site selected as the focus area. I have attached a summary of the two meetings held by <br />the Planning Commission. The Commission has selected the area generally west of Sunfish <br />Lake Blvd. and south of Industry Ave. as the priority area. <br /> <br />Observation: <br /> <br />The general make-up of the task force was outlined by the Planning Commission and now staff <br />has a recommended list for review by the EDA to provide a final recommendation to the City <br />Council. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends that the EDA review and recommend approval of the Redevelopment Task <br />Force. <br /> <br />EDA Action: <br /> <br />Based on discussion <br /> <br />Review checklist: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br /> <br />EDA: 8/10/99 <br />g:\users\cindy\edaredevelopment <br /> <br /> <br />
