CASE #1

BEGIN REVIEW OF THE PARKS FIVE-YEAR
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM (C.I.P.)
By: Mark Boos, Parks/Utilities Supervisor

Background:

Each year, beginning in June, the Commission examines the Five-Year C.I.P. for modifications
and additions. This process includes a public hearing in summer or fall, with City Council's
Finance Committee receiving the Commission's recommendations thereafter. Attached for your
review are the worksheets for the existing Five-Year C.I.P.

Throughout the year, whenever a significant park improvement is requested, staff notes the
request and also invites that person or organization to make a presentation to the Commission.
Earlier this spring, a few local youth have proposed that a skate board park be considered. These
individuals are expected to be at the meeting.

Commission Action:

Review proposed Capital Improvements Program for Years 2000-2005.

Reviewed by:

Parks/Utilities Supervisor

PR:06/10/99
