CASE #1

CONTINUE REVIEW OF THE PARKS FIVE-YEAR
CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS PROGRAM (C.I.P.)
By: Mark Boos, Parks/Utilities Supervisor

Background:

At the regular June meeting, the Commission reviewed the Five-Year C.I.P. consisting of Years
1999 - 2003. The consensus was to have staff prepare a draft C.I.P. for consideration which
reflects the available moneys and funding sources. The Trott Brook Trail Corridor was added for
development in 2004.

Staff was also requested to research options with regard to using depreciation moneys for
addressing things such as play structures and bleacher replacements. Neither a draft C.I.P. nor
the above research findings are available for the July meeting. Staff recommends continued
discussions on park improvement possibilities. A draft C.I.P. will be prepared for the August
meeting.

Commission Action:

Based upon discussion.

Reviewed by:

Parks/Utilities Supervisor
Finance Officer

PR:07/8/99

1
