PW CASE

UPDATE OF RIVER PINES ISSUES
By: Steve Jankowski, City Engineer

Background:

There are currently two issues relative to this subdivision, both of which are associated with
grading issues. The first deals with the grading in the vicinity of Lot 9, Block 1 of the Apple
Ridge subdivision. A meeting was held on October 7, 1999, between the City of Ramsey and
Orin Thompson Homes. At that meeting, a revised grading plan was proposed by Orin
Thompson. The City indicated it would review the plan and respond to the proposal. Enclosed
are two memorandums reviewing the plan, one from the City Engineer and a second review from
Peter Raatikka of Hakanson Anderson Associates, Inc. The Director of Public Works and the
City Attorney anticipate formulating a written response to Orin Thompson by Monday, October
18. A copy of that response will be available at the meeting. The second grading issue concerns
the grades that exist along the western boundary of the River Pines subdivision with the existing
Halls Dover Acres subdivision. The City Engineer has prepared a memorandum on the situation,
which is also attached to this case.

Committee Action:

Based on discussion.

Reviewed by:

City Administrator
City Attorney
Director of Public Works

PW: 10/19/99
