Work is restricted in the sensitive bluffarea and land within 40 feet of the bluff. Any
work conducted above the OHW is within the City of Ramsey's jurisdiction and will need to comply to the
standards set forth in current ordinance language. "

As we have discussed previously, we support the City's efforts at protecting the scenic bluffs along the
Mississippi River and feel that a proposal to cut back the top of the bluffand shield the slope with rock
significantly higher than the ordinary high water elevation is excessive, destructive to the natural features, and
may cause additional problems. It is my opinion that protection of the toe of the slope will give adequate
erosion protection while protecting the values of the bluff..

Please feel free to contact me at (651) 772-7910 if you have any questions or concerns.

Sincerely,
O ma y ;o oO;7t

l~nclosure

c: City of Ramsey, Scan Walther /
Anoka Conservation District, Becky Wozney
Lower Rum River Water Management Organization
U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Tim Fell
DNR Conservation Officer, Leland Owens
DNR Fisheries, Daryl Ellison
DNR Wildlife, Bob Welsh
Central Waters, Ron Anderson
Mississippi River (fiver mile 877.7) File

DNR Information: 651-296-6157
An Equal Opportunit~-F~mployer
Who Values Diversity 'N~

· 1-888-646-6367 '

TTY: 651-296-5484 · 1-800-657-3929

Pdnted on Recycled Paper Containing a
Minimum of 10% Post-Consumer Waste
