Cul-de-sac - means a street with only one outlet and having an appropriate <br />terminal for the safe and convenient reversal of traffic movement. <br /> <br />Minor Street - means a street used primarily for access to the abutting <br />properties and the local needs of a neighborhood. <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />Service Street, Lane or Road - means a street which is adjacent to a <br />thoroughfare and which provides access to abutting properties and <br />protection from through traffic. <br /> <br />6. i Street Width - means the shortest distance between the lot lines delineating <br /> ~. the right-of-way of a street. <br /> <br />Minor Arterial - means a street primarily designated to carry large <br />volumes of traffic and serves as an intra-thoroughfare between various <br />districts of the City. <br /> <br />Major Arterial - means a thoroughfare (inter-community travel) which is a <br />maj or vehicle transportation corridor throughout the region. <br /> <br />9. i Urban Streets - mean those streets located within the 2000 Urban Area and <br /> the Urban Reserve Area. <br /> <br />10., Rural Streets - mean those streets located outside the 2000 Urban Area and <br /> the Urban Reserve Area. <br /> <br /> Subdivider - means a person, firm or corporation having sufficient <br />interest in land in Order to subdivide the same under this Chapter. <br /> <br />9.50.02 <br /> <br /> Subdivision - means the division of a tract of land into two or more lots or <br />parcels of land fof the purpose of transfer of ownership or building development. The term <br />includes re-subdivision and, when appropriate to the context, shall relate to the process of <br />subdividing or to the land subdivided. <br /> <br /> Subd. 3. Permits Improvements. All electric and gas distribution lines or <br />piping, roadways, Walks and other similar improvements shall be constructed only on a street, <br />alley or other pub~lic way or easement which is designated on an approved plat, is properly <br />indicated on the official map of the City or which has otherwise been approved by the Council. <br /> <br /> Sul~d. 4. Access. No permit for the erection of any building shall be issued <br />unless such building is to be located upon a parcel of land abutting on a street or highway which <br />has been designata, d on an approved plat, is on the official map of the City or which has been <br />otherwise approve,d by the Council.
