The goals and philosophy of the Center since its inception in 1978

are to provide quality comprehensive mental health services to those in need re~ard-

less of income. Many of our clients are low income but caught in the "cracks" in

our system and are not eligible for Medicare or Medicaid. Our Program includes

comprehensive mental health services for all ages: children to seniors, and a Day

Treatment Program for persons with serious and persistent mental illness (an alter-

native to hospitalization) and crisis intervention.

Amount of CDBG Funds Requested $ 5,000

Specific Project Description:

We would use CDBG monies to replace badly worn and unstable chairs and furnishings

in our Day Treatment Program for persons with long term mental illness - persons

unable to work, unable to be with family or enjoy many aspects of life. We are
non-profit and serve large numbers of low/no income families leaving no budget/

income for replacements in 1998. (See 1998 Budget)
