ORDINANCE #98- CITY OF RAMSEY ANOKA COUNTY STATE OF MINNESOTA AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 8 OF THE RAMSEY CITY CODE KNOWN AS "BUILDING AND HOUSING". AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8.30 OF CHAPTER 8 OF THE RAMSEY CITY CODE, WHICH SECTION IS ENTITLED "SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEMS". SECTION 1. SUMMARY The following official summary of Ordinance 98-__ has been approved by the City Council of the City of Ramsey as clearly informing the public of the effect of the Ordinance. It is the intent and effect of Ordinance 98-__ to update the City's individual onsite sewage disposal system regulations and to provide minimum standards for and regulation of individual sewage treatment systems. A printed copy of Ordinance 98- is available for inspection by any person at the Ramsey Municipal Center during regular business hours. This Ordinance becomes effective upon its passage and thirty (30) days after publication according to law. SECTION 2. AMENDMENT Section 8.30 of Chapter 8 of the City Code is amended and replaced with the following: 8.30 Sewage and Wastewater Treatment. 8.30.01 General Provisions. a. Purpose. The purpose of the Sewage and Wastewater Treatment SECTION shall be to provide minimum standard for and regulation of individual sewage treatment systems ('fISTS") and septage disposal including the proper location, design and construction; their necessary modification and reconstruction; their operation, maintenance and repair to protect surface water and groundwater from contamination by human sewage and waterborne household and commercial wastes; to protect the public's health and safety, and eliminate or prevent the development of public nuisances pursuant to the authority granted under Minn. Stat. Chapters 115 and 145A and Minnesota Rules Chapter 7080 and as amended that may pertain to sewage and wastewater treatment. I I I I I I I I I ! I I i~, I I I~ I I
