ORDINANCE #98- <br /> <br /> CITY OF RAMSEY <br /> ANOKA COUNTY <br />STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />AMENDMENT TO CHAPTER 8 OF THE RAMSEY CITY CODE KNOWN AS "BUILDING <br />AND HOUSING". <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8.30 OF CHAPTER 8 OF THE RAMSEY CITY <br />CODE, WHICH SECTION IS ENTITLED "SEWAGE DISPOSAL SYSTEMS". <br /> <br />SECTION 1. <br /> <br />SUMMARY <br /> <br />The following official summary of Ordinance 98-__ has been <br />approved by the City Council of the City of Ramsey as clearly <br />informing the public of the effect of the Ordinance. <br /> <br />It is the intent and effect of Ordinance 98-__ to update the <br />City's individual onsite sewage disposal system regulations and to <br />provide minimum standards for and regulation of individual sewage <br />treatment systems. <br /> <br />A printed copy of Ordinance 98- is available for inspection <br />by any person at the Ramsey Municipal Center during regular <br />business hours. <br /> <br />This Ordinance becomes effective upon its passage and thirty (30) <br />days after publication according to law. <br /> <br />SECTION 2. <br /> <br />AMENDMENT <br /> <br />Section 8.30 of Chapter 8 of the City Code is amended and replaced <br />with the following: <br /> <br />8.30 <br /> <br />Sewage and Wastewater Treatment. <br /> <br />8.30.01 General Provisions. <br /> <br /> a. Purpose. The purpose of the Sewage and Wastewater <br />Treatment SECTION shall be to provide minimum standard for and <br />regulation of individual sewage treatment systems ('fISTS") and <br />septage disposal including the proper location, design and <br />construction; their necessary modification and reconstruction; <br />their operation, maintenance and repair to protect surface water <br />and groundwater from contamination by human sewage and waterborne <br />household and commercial wastes; to protect the public's health and <br />safety, and eliminate or prevent the development of public <br />nuisances pursuant to the authority granted under Minn.
