Ramsey Senior Housing Market Study <br /> <br /> INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />January1998 <br /> <br />Goal Statement <br /> <br />The goal of the Ramsey Senior Housing Market Study is to analyze the market for senior rental units in the <br />Ramsey area. <br /> <br />Background <br /> <br />Community Panners Research, Inc. has been hired by the Anoka County Housing and Redevelopment <br />Authority (I-IRA) and the municipality of Ramsey to analyze the market for senior rental units in the <br />Ramsey area. <br /> <br />Ramsey is considering the feasibility of constructing senior housing in the community. Many seniors, and <br />residents with senior age parents, have expressed the need for senior housing in Ramsey. The Anoka <br />County HRA is currently assisting municipalities with the development of senior housing. Prior to <br />proceeding with a senior housing project, the Senior Housing Market Study has been conducted to <br />determine the need for senior housing in the Ramsey area. <br /> <br />Methodology <br /> <br />A variety of resources were utilized to obtain information for the Market Study. The resources include the <br />following: <br /> <br />Limitations <br /> <br />U.S. Bureau of the Census, 1990 <br /> <br />Claritas, Inc., a national data reporting service <br /> <br />1995 Anoka County I-IRA Housing Study <br /> <br />Updates and projections from the State Demographer <br />Demographics from the Metropolitan Council <br />Interviews with Ramsey officials, leaders, residents <br />Ramsey area senior surveys <br /> <br />Anoka County Assessor's Office <br /> <br />This Market Study represents an analysis performed with the data available at the time of the Study. The <br />findings and recommendations are based upon current solutions and the best available information on <br />future trends and projections.
