In the event that the attached or detached garage located on the <br />same parcel of land does not exceed 864 square feet, the <br />accessory structure may also include the difference between the <br />square footage of the attached or detached garage and 864 <br />square feet. In no event shall the total square footage of the <br />attached or detached garage and the accessory structure exceed <br />5,664 square feet on any parcel of land two and one-half (2- <br />1/2) acres and greater in size. <br /> <br />On parcels of land two and one-half (2-1/2) acres and greater in <br />size, all accessory structures shall have a design and exterior <br />facing finish which is compatible, as determined by the <br />Building Inspector, with the principal structure. Galvanized <br />finishes shall not be permitted. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. <br /> <br />SUMMARY <br /> <br />The following official summary of ordinance #98-__ has been approved by the City <br />Council of the City of Ramsey as clearly informing the public of the intent and effect of <br />the Ordinance. <br /> <br />It is the intent and effect of Ordinance #98-._. to amend Ramsey City Code Chapter 9 <br />(Zoning and Subdivision of Land), Section 9.11 (Accessory Uses), Subdivision 12 (Size <br />Restrictions of Accessory Structures) to ammend the regulations for accessory structures <br /> <br />to: <br /> <br />Lower the minimum property size threshold from 2.5 acres to 2.0 acres to allow <br />construction of metal accessory structures (pole buildings). <br /> <br />Impose design standards for accessory structures constructed on properties from two <br />acres to five acres in size. The design standards shall include soffit, facia and eave <br />overhang of the same dimension as the principal structure. The exterior facing finish <br />shall be at a minimum color compatible with the principal structure, as determined by <br />the Building Inspector. Galvinized finishes shall not be permitted. <br /> <br />Remove, in the event that the private garage is less than 864 square feet, the option of <br />applying to the maximum accessory structure size the difference of the private garage <br />square footage from 864 square feet.
