Discussion ensued relating to splitting the project but not to increase the cost to the City. If the project is done all in one piece, the City's share would be under $2 million. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Haas Steffen stated that the City needs to hear from MnDOT, in writing, if we <br /> _ can stage this project and what we need to do. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brown suggested going ahead with the environmental process, the federal environmental <br /> <br /> I assessment, the hearing, the findings of no significant impact, the study report, etc. <br /> Councilmember Haas Steffen reiterated that the City wants something in writing - the City does <br /> not want to jeopardize any funding. <br /> <br /> Mr. Brown agreed to cover all points in a letter to the City. He advised the City to proceed with <br /> II request for proposals for the project, stating that it is a federal aid job but that the City has not <br /> I formally received notice that they will receive the funding. <br /> <br />· Discussion ensued relating to the time frame. Mr. Brown suggested being able to begin the <br />· project in the fall of 1999 if all goes as planned; Once the study report is approved, the City can <br /> begin in whatever area they choose, however, the environmental report has to be for the entire <br />· length of the road that is included in the project.
