Case #2: Public Works Facility <br /> <br />Removed from agenda. <br /> <br />Case #3: Approve City Partnership in Grant Opportunities <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith stated that Environmental Specialist Bacon has <br />identified a number of opportunities for the City to partner with other agencies where our <br />contribution would be in-kind and equipment use. She presented the grant names, partners, <br />purpose and what the City's contribution would be. Ms. W'aite Smith explained that Mark <br />Weaver will be presenting a Memorandum of Understanding to the City Council which is a <br />summary of what to expect. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to recommend <br />Council authorize City participation in RELEAF partnership with Twin Cities Tree Trust, AEC, <br />Ramsey Shademakers, and Good Value Homes to plant trees for energy conservation, <br />enhancement of wildlife habitat and restoration of native plant species, authorize City <br />participation in the COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIP program with Sherbume County Tree <br />Board to participate in the 1998 Ramsey Environmental Expo, the Arbor Day celebration at <br />Kelley Farm, and a series of Environmental Resource tours, authorize City participation in the <br />OAK WILT SUPPRESSION SUPPLEMENTAL GRANT program to pay remaining expenses <br />associated with the federal Oak Wilt Suppression program that is now ended, and authorize the <br />Environmental Specialist to submit a grant proposal to the Minnesota Department of Natural <br />Resources to continue the Oak Wilt Suppression Cost Share Program that operated from 1992 <br />through 1997 with federal grants. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beyer, Beahen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br /> <br />Motion by Councitmember Beyer to adjourn the meeting. <br /> <br />Motion 6arried. Voting Yes: Mayor Garnet, Couneilmembers Beyer, Beahen, Haas Steffen and <br />Zimmerman.
