'1
!
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I
I

To;

Mark Boos, Ramsey Park and Recreation

From:

Bryan Lindberg, Anoka Pool Fund Raising Chair

Date:

November 17, 1997

Offer by Anoka to Ramsey for Participation in Anoka Aquatic Center

The City of Anoka is in the process of constructing a new outdoor
family aquatic center located in the City of Anoka. The City of Anoka,
through the Pool Fund Raising Committee of the Anoka Park and
Recreation Advisory Board, is soliciting donations which will used to
purchase materials and recreational equipment for the new facility and
make capital improvements at the pool site. Thus far, the City of
Anoka has committed approximately ~1.54 million to the cost of the
project and fund raising efforts have produced an additional $90,000 in
donations from private citizens,, businesses, corporations and a
municipality.

Should the City of Ramsey donate $4,000 per year for a period of
three years to the City of Anoka as a contribution to the pool fund
raising effort, residents of the City of Ramsey will receive resldent
rates when. purchasing season admission passes and resident rates
when contracting for swimming instruction. It is anticipated that
season pass "resident" rates will be 925 less than "non-resident" rates
for the 1998 swimming season. Swimming instruction can also be
purchased by residents in 1998 at a reduced "resident" rate. All those
who purchase a "resident" season pass will receive .priority admittance
to the facility should the pool reach capacity. "Residents" will also
receive resident priority when enrolling in swimming instruction
classes. Prior to this offer and the fund raising campaign, only those
individuals living within the boundaries of the City of Anoka qualified
as "residents"

This offer calls for a payment by the City of Ramsey to the City of
Anoka of ~4,000 per year in the years 1998, 1999, and 2000. Total
payment shall not exceed $12,000, This agreement will expire at the
close of year 2000 swimming season. At that time, both parties to the
agreement will be free to renegotiate or withdraw from the
agreement.
