Norman <br />Administrative Services Manager Linda Waite Smith <br />Fire Chief/Director of Public Works Dean Kapler <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Beyer called the regular meeting of the Personnel Committee to order at 6:05 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Authorization to Fill Vacant Public Works Maintenance WOrker <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith informed the Committee of a vacancy in the <br />Public Works department, due to the resignation ofDuane Dordahl. The starting salary range for <br />the position is $9.64 to $10.60 per hour. She explained that rather than reporting to either the <br />Public Works Supervisor in the streets department or the Parks/Utilities Supervisor in the <br />parks/utilities department, the new hire would work in both divisions as needed. She proposed <br />the vacancy be posted internally for two weeks beginning tomorrow (3/11). The Director of <br />Public Works will give direction as far as which department will be employing this person and <br />when. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Couneilmember Beyer to recommend Council <br />authorize staff to proceed with the process to fill the opening for a Public Works Maintenance <br />Worker position in Public Works. <br /> <br />Motion carried.
