~CASE #~ <br /> <br />ACCEPT RESIGNATION OF FINANCE OFFICER <br />Linda Waite Smith, Administrative Services Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br />Finance Officer Jessie Hart is resigning to take a position with another community. <br />last day in the office will be March 27, 1998. <br /> <br />Her <br /> <br />Staff Recommendations: <br />Staff recommends that the Personnel Committee take the following actions: <br /> <br />1. Recommend that City Council accept Ms. Hart's resignation, effective March 31, <br />1998. <br /> <br />2. Recommend that City Council authorize staff to begin the process to fill the Finance <br />Officer position. Copies of the current job description, a proposed timeline, a copy of the <br />job ad, and a list of publications to advertise the opening are attached. <br /> <br />3. Recommend that City Council approve the attached resolution naming Senior <br />Accountant Diana Lund the Acting Finance Officer, effective March 30,1998, until a <br />new Finance Officer is appointed. A copy of Ms. Lund's resume is attached. <br /> <br />4. Recommend that City Council establish Ms. Lund's compensation as Acting <br />Finance Officer at a rate midway between her current salary and the current salary of the <br />Finance Officer. This is $45,816 on an annualized basis, which amounts to $307 per pay <br />period during the time she serves as Acting Finance Officer. This is the same formula <br />used recently to establish the compensation for the Acting City Administrator. <br /> <br />5. Recommend that City Council authorize waiver of vacation accrual limit for Diana <br />Lund while she is serving as Acting Finance Officer. <br /> <br />6. Recommend that City Council authorize hiring a temporary employee experienced in <br />accounting, to assist the Finance Department while the Senior Accountant is serving as <br />the Acting Finance Officer. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />1. Recommend that City Council accept Ms. Hart's resignation, effective March 31, <br />1998. <br /> <br />2.
