City of RAMSEY Public Works <br /> Activity Report for February '1998 <br /> <br />Snow Removal <br /> <br />Obviously February of 98 will be one of the record years for least snow fall. Even with the lack of <br />plowing activity the Public Works dept. did experience some equipment breakdowns, they are as <br />follows: <br /> #617 snowplow truck's' dump box broke, repaired at AEC <br /> #617 snowplow truck air brakes repaired <br /> #600 truck battery replaced <br /> #610 snowplow truck had hydraulic hoses replaced <br /> <br />Minorlssues: <br /> #625 <br /> #627 <br /> <br />& fl627 1 ton trucks will require receiver hitches installed <br />1 ton truck needs mudflaps and toolbox installed <br /> <br />Maintenance <br /> #612 <br /> #606 <br /> <br />'q'o Do" list: <br />Street Sweeper needs conveyor and bearings worked on <br />Needs misc. body work and paint (facelift) <br /> <br />There were essentially no complaints for snow removal. There were a few complaints about <br />drainage problems which will be covered later in the report. <br /> <br />Streets Update <br /> <br />Currently patching and cutting brush on right of ways. Road restrictions signs were placed during <br />the month to coincide with the counties weight restrictions. Also snow removed from fire hydrants <br />earlier in the month. Weather permitting street sweeping will begin shortly. <br /> <br />Several homeowners called expressing concern over read maintenance on Uranimite between <br />163rd Ln and 164th Ln, 164th Ln between Uranimite and Sapphire St., Sapphire between 164th <br />:Ln and 164th Ave. Road is in poor condition. Streets dept. hauled, spread and graded into the <br />street aprox $1200 of material to firm up the existing street. This is strictly a temporary fix. I will be <br />working with the city Eng. to create some options to a long term fix to this area. Plan will be <br />available in March. - <br /> <br />A feW calls with drainage concerns, I have discussed with the Engr who will assist me in puffing <br />together a plan to remedy the situations. The streets dept did do some pumping of areas in <br />danger of flooding during the peak of the melt prior to the frost coming from the ground. <br /> <br />Parks/Utilities <br /> <br />Utilities: <br />Quiet season for problems with occasional rusty water concerns, currently correcting valve boxes <br />that are not to grade or broken, some interior pumphouse painting including the 8000 gal hydro <br />tank, 20+ flexible markers installed on water main valve boxes located in fields and ditches. Also <br />refined the specification for pumping facility #4 and the SCADA system. <br /> <br />Parks: <br />Ice skating rinks were closed 2/15/98 due to unfavorable weather, otherwise quiet, attempting to <br />address tree trimming and maintenance being performed along with regular inspections of play <br />equipment in parks. <br /> <br /> <br />
