I <br /> <br />I <br />! <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />AUTHORIZATION TO HIRE PUBLIC WORKS MAINTENANCE WORKER <br /> By: Linda Waite Smith, Administrative Services Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The Public Works Department has an opening for a Public Works Maintenance Worker due to an <br />employee resignation. <br /> <br />The position was advertised and a panel consisting of the Public Works Director, Public Works <br />Supervisor, Parks/Utilities Supervisor and Administrative Services Manager interviewed seven <br />finalists the week of April 27, 1998. Based on the results of the interviews, the interview panel is <br />recommending one of the candidates for hiring. At the time the meeting agenda was being <br />prepared, that candidate was out of town and has not confirmed that he will accept the position. <br /> <br />Assuming he accepts the position, staff recommends that he be hired, contingent on successfully <br />passing the background checks and physical examination, at the rate of $10.65 per hour. <br /> <br />Committee Action: <br /> <br />Recommend that City Council authorize hiring a Public Works Maintenance Worker, effective <br />May 13, 1998, at a salary of $10.65 per hour. <br /> <br />Reviewed By: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Administrative Services Manager <br />Public Works Director <br /> <br />PC 05/12/98 <br /> <br />Copies also distributed to: <br /> <br />Public Works Supervisor <br />Parks/Utilities Supervisor <br /> <br /> <br />
