Norman <br />Acting Finance Officer Diana Lund <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Councilmember Beahen called the regular meeting of the Finance Committee to order at 6:05 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />CITIZEN INPUT <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />CONSENT AGENDA <br /> <br />None <br /> <br />APPROVE AGENDA <br /> <br />Consensus was to approve the agenda as presented. <br /> <br />COMMITTEE BUSINESS <br /> <br />Case #1: Authorize Contract with CompuCom to Perform Audit of Computer System <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman stated that when the Administrative Services Manager tried to locate <br />computer training for two of the City's employees, it was learned that the software used by the <br />City is nearly obsolete. Staff feels that it doesn't make sense to invest significant money in a <br />system that is obsolete and is not "year 2000 compliant". Before staff can recommend how to <br />upgrade the current computer software, we need a better understanding of what we currently <br />have and also what we will need in the next three to five years. Since no one on staff has the <br />expertise to do this type of analysis, we are requesting authorization to enter into a contract with <br />CompuCom, a finn recommended by a neighboring city, to conduct an audit of our current <br /> <br />Finance Committee/April 28, 1998 <br /> Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
