Goodrich, City Attorney <br /> <br />Background= <br /> <br />On February 28, 1998, the city Council authorized the city Attorney <br />and the law firm of Kennedy & Graven to research the validity of <br />Chapter 14 of the City Charter. That research is now completed as <br />to Chapter 14.1 of the Charter and presented in letter form <br />enclosed. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends Council review the enclosed opinion and present <br />whatever questions you have at the Council meeting. This opinion <br />should also be referred to the City's Charter Commission for its <br />review and comment. <br /> <br />council Action: <br /> <br />Based on discussion.
