MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />1) Feasibility Study - 149th Avenue <br /> <br /> Councilmember Haas Steffen noted the feasibility study for a cul-de-sac for traffic <br /> calming on 149th Avenue NW. <br /> <br /> Mayor Garnet stated he is not in favor of a cul-de,sac in that area as he felt that the traffic <br /> would be pushed up to 152nd Lane. <br /> <br /> Councilmembers Beahen stated she is not in favor of a cul-de-sac on 149th either. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Haas Steffen stated she is not opposed to doing something to help the <br /> people on 149th, but she felt that C.R. #116 would take care of the problem. <br /> <br /> Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman <br /> to discuss this issue again at the next Road and Bridge Committee meeting. <br /> <br /> Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Zimmerman <br /> and Beahen. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberBeyer. <br /> <br /> Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Mayor Gamec to rescind <br /> Resolution #98-05-075 receiving report and calling a public hearing on Improvement <br /> Project #98-15 (Traffic calming on 149th Avenue). <br /> <br />Motion carded. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Beahen and <br />Zimmerman. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberBeyer. <br /> <br />2) Tri-City Meeting <br /> <br />City Administrator Norman reminded Council of the Tri-City meeting scheduled to be <br />held with the School District at the Anoka-Hennepin District Offices, at 6:30 p.m., <br />Wednesday, May 13. <br /> <br />3) Thank You for Bicycle <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec read the thank you note from Linnea Jacobson, the child who won the <br />bicycle donated by the Ramsey City Council. <br /> <br />4) Community Center <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec stated he attended a meeting regarding community centers and received <br />some very good information. <br /> <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen stated she would like to chair the committee that would be <br />working on a community center for Ramsey. <br /> <br />City Council/May 12, 1998 <br /> Page 15 of 16 <br /> <br /> <br />
