!
!

Gary & Bonnie Baggenstoss
15795 Juniper Ridge Drive NW
Ramsey, MN 55303

Ramsey City Council
15153 Nowthen Blvd. NW
Ramsey, MN 55303

Dear Members of the Ramsey City Council:

We are unable to attend the meeting Thursday evening, but we want you to know
this issue is very important to us as homeowners on the Rum River. When we
purchased our lot nearly 20 years ago, we were informed of the building restrictions
for our home and the tree cutting restrictions along the riverbank because of the
scenic stares of the Rum River. In addition, we believed that there was a 10-bp limit
on any motors on the river.

In the last few years, there has been increased watercraft activity and an increase
in the power of the watercraf~ (including jet skis). As the activity increased, we
made inquiries with the DNR only to discover that they are only interested in the
land along the fiver and not the activity on the fiver. I now understand that the cities
that border the river are the ones that govern the activity on the river.

The Rum River is a joy to those who canoe and fish its waters and to those who
are privileged to live on its fragile banks. We are happy that our city is willing to
establish a no wake zone on the Rum River before the banks of the fiver are
destroyed.

Sincerely,

Gary & Bonnie Baggenstoss

eee~eeeeeeleeeeeeleeleleeeee
