CASE #

APPLICATION FOR RENEWAL OF AN ON-SALE LIQUOR LICENSE
REQUEST OF BARNYARD ENTERTAINMENT
By: David Gustafson, Police Chief

Background:

The City of Ramsey has received an on-sale liquor license renewal application from
Barnyard Entertainment Inc., located at 6937 Highway #10 in Ramsey. The application,
dated June 3, 1998, and signed by corporation president Robert Carlson, includes all the
required supporting affidavits and disclosures necessary to bring it before Council for
approval. The applicant has, per Minnesota Statute 340, disclosed facts surrounding an
infraction of the Ramsey City Liquor Ordinance, which occurred October 5, 1997, at the
licensee's place of business and which resulted in a district court conviction of an
employee for selling liquor to a minor. Said conviction resulted in a stipulated agreement
between the licensee and the City Council, whereby the on-sale liquor license was
suspended for one day on January 5, 1998. ~

There have been no other infractions since that time, nor has Barnyard Entertainment ever
been cited for liquor law or ordinance violations prior to the above mentioned incident.

The Police Chief has, per Minnesota Statute 34_9, attached to the renewal application,
copies of the dispositions related to the October~.. 1997 infraction, and is recommending
Council grant the request for an on-sale liquor license renewal to Barnyard
Entertainment.

Council Action:

Motion to approve/not approve the request of.Barnyard Entertainment for renewal of on-
sale liquor license.

Reviewed by:

Police Chief

CC: 06/23/98
/Lgthse. doc
