Councilmember <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br /> RESOLUTION #98-06- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE PURCHASE OF SEMI-AUTOMATIC POLICE <br />SHOTGUNS FROM DRUG FORFEITURE FUNDS. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, the Ramsey Police Department retains a certain percentage of funds <br />pertaining to drug confiscations. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these funds are to be used exclusively for the purchase of public safety <br />equipment. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Ramsey Police Department would like to use these funds to purchase five <br />semi-automatic shotguns. <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, these higher caliber shotguns offer increased safety to the general public <br />and the police officers in that the guns are designed to reduce ricocheting bullets. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA, as follows: <br /> <br />That the Ramsey City Council hereby authorizes the purchase of five semi-automatic shotguns in <br />the amount of $5,500 ($1,100 each) to be paid for with drug forfeiture funds. <br /> <br />The motion for adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Councilmember <br />, and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br /> <br />and the following voted against: <br />and the following abstained: <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />whereupon said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted by the Ramsey City Council <br />this the 23rd day of June, 1998. <br /> <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />Mayor <br /> <br />I' <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />
