We are most
anxious to hear from you, as your community is an integral part of the corridor
and the study process. The Forum is scheduled for:

Lewis Stark
ttaven Township

Friday, June 26, 1998
8:00 to 11:30 AM
Sherbume County Courthouse
Elk River, MN

Attached is a map showing the preliminary proposed station locations. These are
tentative sites that may be considered for station lcoations now or at some later
stage once the system has operating experience. Final decisions on station siting
will depend on local input, potential ridership, cost, BNSF and other factors.
Because many of you are currently involved in comprehensive planning
processes, the NCDA thought it would be an opportune time to start discussions
on the relationship between rail transit and land use, the oppommities and
benefits.

The Forum is designed to be a participatory workshop for the planners,
administrators and engineers from the counties, cities, townships and agencies
involved in the Northstar Corridor study area. The Forum includes an overview
of the Northstar Corridor Project, a speaker who will share national experience in
fixed guideway station area land use planning, and small group break out sessions
to address potential station locations in specific geographic areas. The large
group will reconvene to share the results of the small group discussions. An
agenda is attached.

Guest speakers are Michael Zdon from the San Diego Association of

Northstar Corridor Development Authority
2100 3r'' Avenue, Anoka, Minnesota 55303-2265 (612) 323-5700 Fax: (612) 323-5682
