Councilmember <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION #98-07- <br /> <br />RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT FOR THE 1998 <br />STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM - DIVISION A CRACK FILLING <br />(IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS #98-01 THROUGH #98-07) <br /> <br /> WltEREAS, Resolutions #98-05-076 through #98-05-082 were adopted by Ramsey City <br />Council on May 12, 1998, authorizing the preparation of plans and specifications for the above <br />referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WHEREAS, Resolutions #98-06-1 t 3 through #98-06-119 were adopted by Rarnsey City <br />Council on June 9, 1998, approving the plans and specifications and authorizing the <br />advertisement for bids for the above-referenced work; and <br /> <br /> WTIEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 1998 Street Maintenance <br />Program, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on July 8, 1998; and <br /> <br />WTIEREAS, the following quotes were received for Division A - Crack Filling: <br /> <br />Bidder Amount of Bid <br /> <br />Bergman Companies, Inc. of Wisconsin <br />Daffinson, Inc. <br />Asphalt Surface Technologies Corporation <br /> a/k/a ASTECH Corp. <br />Allied Blacktop Co. <br />Northland Sealing-Striping <br /> <br />$27,500.00 <br /> 31,000.00 <br /> 18,500.00 <br /> <br />18,250.00 <br />15,000.00 <br /> <br />Engineer's Estimate <br /> <br />21,250.00 <br /> <br /> AND W'I-IEREAS, it appears that Northland Sealing-Striping is the lowest responsible <br />bidder. <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: <br /> <br />1) <br /> <br />2) <br /> <br />That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a <br />contract with Northland Sealing-Striping in the name of the City of Ramsey for the 1998 <br />Street Maintenance Program - Division A - Crack Filling (Improvement Projects #98-01 <br />through #98-07) in the amount of $15,000.00. <br /> <br />That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to ail bidders <br />the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the <br />next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed. <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br />I' <br /> <br /> I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />i <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br /> <br />
