Councilmember introduced the following resolution and moved for its adoption: RESOLUTION #98-07- RESOLUTION RECEIVING BIDS AND AWARDING CONTRACT STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM - .'DIVISION B - (IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS #98-01 THROUGH #98-07) FOR THE 1998 SEALCOATING WHEREAS, Resolutions #98-05-076 through #98-05-082 were adopted by Ramsey City Council on May 12, 1998, authorizing the preparation of plans and specifications for the above referenced work; and WHEREAS, Resolutions #98-06-113 through #98-06-119 were adopted by Ramsey City Council on June 9, 1998, approving the plans and specifications and authorizing the advertisement for bids for the above-referenced work; and WHEREAS, pursuant to an advertisement for bids for the 1998 Street Maintenance Program, bids were received, opened and tabulated according to law on July 8, 1998; and WltEREAS, the following quotes were received for Division B - Sealcoating: Bidder Amount of Bid Asphalt Surface Technologies Corporation a/k/a ASTECH Corp. Allied Blacktop Co. 89,176.00 98,596.00 Engineer's Estimate 125,600.00 AND WHEREAS, it appears that Asphalt Surface Technologies Corporation a/k/a ASTECH Corp. is the lowest responsible bidder. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF RAMSEY, ANOKA COUNTY, STATE OF MINNESOTA: 1) 2) That the Mayor and City Administrator are hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Asphalt Surface Technologies Corporation a/k/a ASTECH Corp. in the name of the City of Ramsey for the 1998 Street Maintenance Program - Division B - Sealcoating (Improvement Projects #98-01 through #98-07) in the amount of $89,176.00. That the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to return forthwith to ail bidders the deposits made with their bids, except that the deposits of the successful bidder and the next to lowest bidder shall be retained until a contract has been signed.
