Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Couneilmember Beyer to recommend Council <br />adopt the updated organization chart with the amendment recommended by <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmember Beyer, Councilmember <br />Beahen, Councilmember Haas Steffen, and Councilmember Zimmerman. Voting No: <br />None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Case #2: Recommend Appointment of Corporal <br /> <br />Police Chief Dave Gustafson explained the competitive process used to select the best <br />candidate to develop and lead the Volunteer Public Safety Aide unit authorized by City <br />Council recently. On the basis of written plans submitted by each applicant and <br />structured interviews with a panel that included the Police Chief, a Police Sergeant, an <br />Anoka Police Sergeant, a Ramsey Patrol Officer and Administrative Services Manager, <br />the recommendation is to appoint Patrol Officer Timothy Dwyer to Corporal. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to recommend that <br />Council appoint Officer Timothy Dwyer to the position of Corporal responsible for the <br />Volunteer Public Safety Aide unit. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmember Beahen, Councilmember <br />Beyer, Councilmember Haas Steffen and Councilmember Zimmerman. Voting No: <br />None. Absent: None. <br /> <br />Case #3: Recommend Appointment of Linda Mayer as Senior Accountant <br /> <br />Administrative Services Manager Waite Smith explained that <br />position is open due to the recent appointment of Diana Lund <br />position. The position was posted internally. Accounting Clerk <br />been serving as the Acting Senior Accountant recently (and who <br /> <br />the Senior Accountant <br />to the Finance Officer <br />Linda Mayer, who has <br />served in that capacity <br /> <br />before Ms. Lund was hired) was the sole applicant. Based on her demonstrated ability to <br />handle the duties of the position, and the results of an interview, Ms. Waite Smith and <br />Ms. Lurid are recommending that Ms. Mayer be appointed to the position of Senior <br />Accountant, effective 7/15/98, at an annual salary of $30,986. <br /> <br />Motion by Mayor Gamec and seconded by Councilmember Beyer to recommend that <br />Council appoint Linda Mayer to the position of Senior Accountant, effective July 15, <br />1998, at an annual salary of $30,986. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmember Beahen, Councilmember <br />Beyer, Councilmember Haas Steffen and Councilmember Zimmerman. Voting No: <br />None.
