! <br />! <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br />'1 <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br />'1 <br /> <br />P~c~s~ #: ~ <br /> <br />COMPENSATION PACKAGE FOR EXEMPT EMPLOYEES <br /> By: Linda Waite Smith, Administrative Services Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City's negotiating team and exempt employees have reached tentative agreement on <br />compensation for the period of January I, 1998 through December 31, 2000. <br /> <br />The compensation plan is the same as the one proposed for AFSCIv/:E employees and already in <br />effect for police officers. It includes cost of living adjustments (COLAs) of three percent in <br />1998, 1999 and 2000. It also implements, beginning October 1, 1998, a three percent step plan <br />to bring salaries up to market rates identified by a consultant from Labor Realtions Associates, <br />Inc. in the past three months. Employees hired after December 31, 1997 are not eligible for the <br />1998 COLA.
