Recommendation: Based on the discussion of the preceding section, staff is recommending that the City of Ramsey enter into a joint and cooperative agreement with the LOGIS consortium. Becoming a member city of LOGIS would address the City's future local network support needs through the LOGIS Information Management Personnel. If the City Council were to accept the recommendation to .join LOGIS, then it would be appropriate to address the other computer-related issues as discussed in the previous section. Finance/Payroll. The City would purchase the finance and payroll packages of LOGIS. The City will install the new finance package software when the selection has been made by the LOGIS membership user committee. During the interim, the City will utilize the current LOGIS financial software. The City would use the current payroll sol,,are package as provided by LOGIS and install the proposed upgrades in November. Hardware/Software Upgrades. A representative of LOGIS has already reviewed the audit and provided a revised purchase schedule for City Council consideration, The list of hardware and software upgrades are attached to this memorandum. Staff would recommend that the Council authorize the bidding process for items suggested in LOGIS recommendations. Law Enforcement. Staff would recommend that the City continue to pursue the centralized County-wide record system when the Anoka County JLEC makes its recommendations in the near future. Internet/Website. Yet another benefit of membership to the LOGIS consortium is that LOGIS will serve as a service provider of the City's Website. An application has been made for registration of the City of Ramsey's Website and employee e-mail addresses will be www.ci.Ramsey. Mn. US through the City's Website.
