I <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />City of Ramsey Public Works <br />Activity Report for July and August 1998 <br /> <br />Training <br />Employee Right to Know took place July 22. Fall Protection, Hearing Protection and Eye <br />Protection and Washing are scheduled for September. A schedule of OSHA mandated training for <br />1999 has been established and is included with the report. <br /> <br />Goals and Objectives <br />A list of goals and objectives for all divisions in PW (including Engineering) has been submitted to <br />the City Administrator. <br /> <br />PW Expansion Update <br />Project is nearing completion. Air conditioners are yet to be installed and some minor touchups <br />need to be addressed. <br /> <br />Metal Building Improvements Update <br />New garage doors have been installed. Openers for the doors are in place waiting for electrical <br />hookup. Additional lighting and outlet work is being quoted out using a figure of aprox $5000. This <br />is the amount left after the garage door installation. A thorough spring cleaning will happen when <br />electrical work is completed. <br /> <br />Minor Vehicle Maintenance Costs <br />The cost of having AEC performing the minor maintenance (oil changes, etc.) is being looked at. <br />The costs seem to be quite extreme. The possibility of bringing some of this work internal to the <br />PW group is being analyzed. <br /> <br />Phone Concerns <br />PW group is looking into alternatives to automatic phone service at the PW facility when not <br />staffed. Currently many calls get missed, possibly causing poor customer service perceptions. <br /> <br />Equipment <br /> What broke <br /> PTO on new mower repaired under warranty <br /> Hydraulic line on grader repaired (#603) <br /> Flat tire repaired on Grader (#603) <br /> Fuel line on grader repaired (#603) <br /> Oil pan replaced on truck #600 <br /> Throttle cable repaired on #620 <br /> O-rings replaced on shoulder machine <br /> Clutch and starter replaced in Ford Tractor (#608) <br /> What needs attention <br /> Drift in hydraulics on grader <br /> (2) weed whips need parts for repair <br /> <br />Streets Update <br />Patching roads mostly completed, Wood chips from storm being transferred to city hall will be <br />completed week of 8-28-98, Fall street sweeping to begin within the week, Sand and salt delivery <br />for winter str, cet maintenance expected soon. <br /> <br /> <br />
