,I <br /> <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> I <br /> <br />il <br /> <br />CASE # / <br /> <br />REQUEST FOR AN INTERIM USE PERMIT FOR A TEMPORARY <br />OFFICE STRUCTURE; CASE OF TRANSWEST, INC. <br /> By: Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />On July 24, 1997, the City issued an interim use permit to Transwest, Inc. (aka Communicor) at <br />6100 Industry Avenue N.W. for the utilization of a 720 square foot modular office on the <br />property for a one year period. <br /> <br />Observations: <br /> <br />That permit expired on August 1, 1998 and the applicants have requested permission to use the <br />temporary office structure for one more year to complete their assessment of space needs for <br />expansion or relocation. City Code requires a new public hearing and re-issuance of a permit <br />upon expiration of the original permit. <br /> <br />The City has previously granted permits for the use of temporary office structures for 2 years or <br />more in the industrial district; most recently those included Listul, Waste Management, and <br />Ameor. <br /> <br />The following items are enclosed for your information: <br /> <br />1. Site location map <br />2. Structure detail <br />3. Planning Commission public hearing and regular meeting minutes dated 10/6/98 <br />4. Proposed findings of fact <br />5. Proposed interim use permit <br /> <br />The Planning Commission met on October 6 and conducted a public hearing regarding the new <br />application. There were no verbal or written comments submitted at the public hearing. <br /> <br />Notification: <br /> <br />In accordance with State Statutes, notification of the public hearing was sent to persons owning <br />property within 350 feet of the subject property. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />The Planning Commission recommended approval of the interim use permit for another 12 <br />month period. <br /> <br /> <br />
