I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />Finance Officer Lund explained the City of Ramsey is currently undergoing a conversion of its <br />financial computer software which results in the need for compatible checks and invoices. She <br />recommended authorization to request proposals from Northland and Landmark Banks. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Beahen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to direct Staff <br />to solicit proposals for banking services by distributing the "Request for Proposal - Banking <br />Services" to Landmark Community Bank, NA and Northland Security Bank. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Beahen, Zimmerman, and Haas <br />Steffen. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberBeyer. <br /> <br />3) Consider Accepting Snowmobile Enforcement Grant from the DNR <br /> <br />It was noted that the Legislature has authorized, through the Department of Natural Resources <br />(DNR), grants for snowmobile enforcement. The only stipulation is that these funds be used <br />solely for snowmobile enforcement, over and above the current levels of enforcement. <br /> <br />Motion by Councilmember Haas Steffen and seconded by Councilmember Zimmerman to accept <br />the terms and the $1,000 grant from the DNK for the 1998-99 snowmobile season and to <br />authorize Staffto enter into the agreement with the DNR for same. <br /> <br />Motion carried. Voting Yes: Mayor Gamec, Councilmembers Haas Steffen, Zimmerman, and <br />Beahen. Voting No: None. Absent: CouncilmemberBeyer. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec commented on the importance of snowmobilers showing courtesy while operating <br />their machines. <br /> <br />MAYOR AND COUNCIL INPUT <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />1) Update on County Projects <br /> <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen reported that there may be some County projects that will not <br />proceed. She suggested that the City of Ramsey work with the City of Anoka to draft a plan <br />between C.K. #47 and C.R. #57 to see if this project can be moved up in the schedule and be <br />completed. <br /> <br />Mayor Gamec asked what will happen with regard to maintenance of C.R. #5 to C.K. #63. He <br />suggested discussions start with Anoka County about the possibility of upgrading. <br /> <br />2) Ramsey Industrial Park <br /> <br />Councilmember Haas Steffen stated the City now has a Community Development Director and <br />suggested Staff begin looking the possibility of upgrading certain parts of the industrial park. She <br />stated there may be TIF or other redevelopment dollars that could be used toward that effort <br /> <br />City Council/October 13, 1998 <br /> Page 21 of 22 <br /> <br /> <br />
