CASE # <br />AUTHORIZATION TO REQUEST EXTENSION FOR SUBMITTAL OF <br /> COMPREHENSIVE PLAN <br /> By: Cindy Sherman, Community Development Director <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />The City has been working since August 1997 to develop a comprehensive plan consistent with <br />the State Land Planning Act. The state regulations call for' submittal of the plan to the <br />Metropolitan Council by December 31, 1998. There are provisions to request an extension to the <br />deadline. In order to request an extension the Council must adopt a resolution and submit the <br />resolution along with a questionnaire to be completed. We also must identify a target date for <br />submittal of our plan. <br /> <br />Recommendation: <br /> <br />Staff recommends the Council authorize the staff to prepare the extension resolution and <br />questionnaire for review at the December 8, 1998 meeting. <br /> <br />Council Action: <br /> <br />To direct staff to prepare a resolution requesting an extension for the deadline to submit the <br />Comprehensive Plan to the Metropolitan Council and completion of the related questionnaire. <br /> <br />Reviewed by: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Zoning Administrator <br /> <br />CC: 11/24/98 <br /> <br />g:\users\cindy\compex.doc <br /> <br /> <br />
