I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I I CASE #1 TRUNK HIGHWAY #47 STP PROJECT UPDATE By: Steven Jankowski, City Engineer Background: This case is intended to provide a continuing update of this very important transportation project for the City. At the October Road and Bridge Committee meeting, the results of the public hearing were reviewed. In addition to eight individual comment sheets which returned all of which were in favor of signalizing the 142nd Avenue intersection, a petition was received supporting this concept. The petition was signed by over 400 people. A meeting has been scheduled for Monday, November 23, 1998, at 1:00 p.m. at the Mn/DOT offices in Watersedge Building to discuss this issue. Mn/DOT staff in attendance will include Kevin Hoglund, Cooperative Agreements Engineer (reports to Greg Felt); Greg Felt, Assistant State Aid Engineer; Tony Wianke, State Aid Agreements (reports to Greg Felt); A1 Pint, District Traffic Engineer; Evan Crocker, Signal Design (reports to A1 Pint); Steve Misgen, Operations (?); Lars Impola (reports to A1 Pint). It will be helpful to have as many Council people in attendance as possible. Jim Dvorak and Dennis Eyler will be present from SRF, Inc. to present the signal justification report (SJR) for the City. Attached is a copy of the SIR. Our consultant has also forwarded a revised copy of the Environmental Assessment to Mn/DOT. It is the hope that Mn/DOT may write off on the document with the issue of the 142nd Avenue signal still undecided. This would allow the City to proceed with offers to the thirteen properties which needto be acquired. Committee Action: None Required.
