e..CAS #: 5 <br /> <br /> RECEIVE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR <br /> PLANNING COMMISSION APPOINTMENTS <br />By: Linda Waite Smith, Administrative Services Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />One planning commission position is vacant due to the resignation of Michael Terry who moved <br />out of town recently. Another becomes vacant January 1, 1999, because David Bawden is not <br />seeking reappointment when his current term expires December 31, 1998. <br /> <br />Planning Commission applicants were sought through an announcement in the <br />November/December issue of the Ramsey Resident newsletter. A four-member interview panel <br />interviewed applicants on November 18, 1998. The panel compiled a recommended appointment <br />list based on the interviews. Copies of applications are attached to this case. <br /> <br />Committee Action <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that City Council appoint Christopher Dempsey to the Planning <br />Commission to complete the term of Michael Terry which expires 12/31/01. <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that City Council appoint M.A. (Robert) Johnson to the Planning <br />Commission for a term to expire 2003. <br /> <br />Motion to recommend that City Council approve Michael Nixt as an alternate to fill the next <br />Planning Commission vacancy. <br /> <br />Reviewed By: <br /> <br />City Administrator <br />Administrative Services Manager <br /> <br />Copies also distributed to: <br /> <br />Community Development Director <br /> <br />PC 11/24/98 <br /> <br /> <br />
