I <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />ADOPT RESOLUTION TO CHANGE NAME OF <br />ROAD AND BRIDGE COMMITTEE TO <br /> PUBLIC WORKS COMMITTEE <br /> <br />By: Linda Waite Smith, Administrative Services Manager <br /> <br />Background: <br /> <br />Section 2.01.07 of the Ramsey City Code provides that the City Council can establish such <br />committees, special or standing, as it deems necessary. Among the standing committees is the <br />Road and Bridge Committee. <br /> <br />Despite its name, the Road and Bridge Committee reviews and recommends Council action on <br />items involving all types of public works projects and policies. Designation as the "Public <br />Works Committee" would more appropriately reflect the actual responsibilities of the Road and <br />Bridge Committee. <br /> <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />I <br /> <br />The City Attorney has advised staff that the City Council may, by simple resolution, change the <br />name of the Road and Bridge Committee.
