REQUEST FOR EXTENSION OF PLANNING PERIOD

Name of community: _City of_Rams_e.y

Dare__December.8,1998

Responsible person Cindy Sherman. Community Development Director Phone (612)42%1.410

Fax (612) 427-5.543

The Council understands that since your plan is not ready for submission, this information is subject to
change, Responding to these questions is intended to provide tentative information to the Council so that
it can m~ticipate future land needs and plan for Metropolitan systems.

Request plan extension to (date)

March, 1999

Anticipated date of submission to adjacent local governments November 9. 1998

Anticipated date of submission to the Metropolitan Council.. February_ 16. 1999

Are the community's for~asts of population, households and employment for 2020 different than those
developed by the Metropolitan Council? Yes X No Do not know
(,please el'role only one)

If yes, what are the forecas~ that the community will be using for its comprehensive plan? The numbers
provided below are tentative and subject to change.

Note: The folIowing forecast~ are based on projections by Traffic Analysis Zones found on Page 59 of
the November 9 Draft Plan. The population projections were determined by multiplying assumed persons
per household ratios to the eetimated households in each time period. Population projections coald
change significantly depending upon hoa4ehold composition. Rarn~ey is a rather young community with
lots of children. As these children move out of homes, persons per household will begin to decline.
Similarly, if Rarnsey is to increase its amount of multi-family housing .etock, household sizes in apartments
are typically less than that of single family homes. Using this rational we have assumed the following
persons per household (pph) ratios: 3 pph in 2000, 2.9 pph in 2020 and 2.8 pph in 2020.

2000 2010 2020
Population 17,850 23,070 27,888
Households 5,949 7,955 9,960
Employment 2,420 7,285 8,850

Are the community's housing goals for a mixture of single family detached and multi-family dwelling
units in the period 1996 through 2020 different than those developed by the metropolitan council?

Yes~ No...
