PUBLIC HEARING <br />PLANNING COMMISSION <br />CITY OF RAMSEY <br />ANOKA COUNTY <br /> STATE OF MINNESOTA <br /> <br />DRAFT <br /> <br />The Ramsey Planning Commission conducted a public hearing on Thursday, December 3, 1998, <br />at the Ramsey Municipal Center, 15153 Nowthen Boulevard NW, Ramsey, Minnesota to hear <br />input regarding a request for a home occupation permit; case of Christine Prigge. <br /> <br />Members Present: <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Ben Deemer <br />Commissioner Leo Anderson <br />Commissioner Chris Dempsey <br />Commissioner Sharon Jensen <br />Commissioner Charles LaDue <br />Commissioner Joe Wivoda <br /> <br />Members Absent: Chairperson David Bawden <br /> <br />Also Present: <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Sylvia Frolik <br />City Administrator James Norman <br />City Attorney William Goodrich <br />Community Development Director Cindy Sherman <br />Community Development Assistant Scan Walther <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br /> <br />Acting Chairperson Deemer called the public heating to order at 7:39 p.m. <br /> <br />PRESENTATION <br /> <br />Zoning Administrator Frolik reported that Christine Prigge of 6030 143rd Lane NW has applied <br />for a home occupation permit to establish and operate a one-chair hair salon in her home. The <br />applicant would be operating the business 3 evenings a week between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and <br />9:00 p.m. The room in which the home occupation will be conducted equates to 11% of the <br />gross floor area; City Code restricts home occupations to 20%. Ms. Prigge will be the sole <br />employee and she expects to service a maximum of 10 clients per week.
