CC Regular Session <br />Meeting Date: 06/14/2011 <br />By: Jo Thieling, Administrative Services <br />Title: <br />Bio of Len Linton and Sons <br />Each of Len's five sons has also earned the distinguished honor of being an Eagle Scout. <br />2. 1. <br />Background: <br />The City Council is privileged to have City employee Leonard Linton and his sons present tonight to lead in the <br />Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. Mr. Linton has worked in the City's Engineering Department for over seven <br />years. Len earned his Eagle Scout designation in 1976. His project was for the Red Cross Community Fund Drive <br />in Meeteetse, Wyoming. Mr. Linton has served as a Scout leader for 17 years. <br />Jeff - age 28 - earned his Eagle Scout designation in 1999. His project was a painting project at the Doris A. Kemp <br />Park in Champlin, MN. Jeff is currently employed by Arrow Components in Ramsey and he and his wife Kasey <br />reside in Champlin. <br />Jason - age 25 - earned his Eagle Scout designation in 2003. His project was also a painting project at the Doris A. <br />Kemp Park in Champlin. Jason is currently seeking employment and resides in Champlin with his parents. <br />Jeremy - age 23 - earned his Eagle Scout designation in 2004. His project was a painting project at Andrews and <br />Northland Parks in Champlin, MN. Jeremy is working this summer as staff at Many Point Scout Camp and as a <br />Range Master for the high adventure camp. <br />Jacob - age 20 - earned his Eagle Scout designation in 2008. His project was painting fire hydrants in Champlin, <br />MN. Jacob is currently a student at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities Campus, and will also be living and <br />working on campus this summer. <br />Jared - age 19 - earned his Eagle Scout designation in 2010. His project was replacing sidewalk at the Champlin <br />American Legion. Jared is currently attending Transitions Plus in Anoka, and will be attending Anoka - Ramsey <br />Community College in the fall. He volunteers at Mercy Medical Center in Coon Rapids and is currently seeking <br />employment. Jared resides in Champlin with his parents. <br />All five Linton sons graduated from Champlin High School and all five participated in musical extra curricular <br />activities. All five young men, over the years, attended Rum River Scout Camp and Many Point Scout Camp. In <br />addition, Jeff, Jason, and Jeremy attended Philmont Scout Ranch (a national high adventure camp). Jeremy also <br />attended Northern Tier High Adventure Base and Florida Sea Base.
